Do you get a cast for this, or just bandages?
And umm... does it hurt afterwards?

Just bandages, but a huge one!! Lots of padding so dont worry. You will asked to walk on your heels and assisted to do so by the physio if you have problems. Dont think it is particularly painful but you will be discharged with painkillers, probably paracetamol, an anti-inflammatory and something strong like Tramadol or Dihydracodeine. Best thing to do is write down any questions you have so you dont forget them when you are admitted. I was a staff nurse in orthopaedic sugery and have dealt with this loads of times, so any more questions just fire away!!

How long do i get crutches for? :D

aaaaaaaaand um.

are there any stitches?
You will get the crutches for as long as you need them, but usually until your first post-op appointment which will be approx 2 weeks after your surgery to have your stitches removed.
My daughter had a big toe fusion and bunion removal just before christmas and she was given a special shoe with a big heel to walk on, which kept the front of her foot off the ground, she didn't need crutches. The stiches were removed in two post op hospital appointments as her wound healed. She felt hardly any pain and has got over it really well.
Good luck
