What are the dangers of getting pregnant if you are taking the pill?

I thought the idea of taking the pill was so that you didn't get pregnant!!

I actually became pregnant while taking the pill but I believe its pretty rare, I think its 99% safe.

If you miss pills or are quite ill whilst taking that months then there is a chance that you could become pregnant.
very severe diarrhoea and being sick can actually stop it from being asorbed and could result in getting pregnant.

I was on it for quite a while and stuck to the pill taking by the book and i never got pregnant.

If you are ill while you are taking it, just use extra protection!

Taking the pill if you are pregnant shouldn't cause any harm to the foetus (although it's obviously not advisable!). If you do suspect you are pregnant do a test and stop taking the pill if it is positive, then get to the doctor for advice.

The main problem will probably be dating the pregnancy correctly, but this can be done with an ultrasound scan.

Lizzydrippin, I got pregnant taking microgynon, I took it religiously according to the instructions, doubling up if I was ever feling ill, I know 2 others who also got pregnant taking it, it might not even be 99% safe.

microgynon is crap!! everyone i know whos been on the pill had that one first and had to change for one reason or another! my mum reckons it's the cheapest and thats why its the first option!
