What is the purpose of wearing ankle weights when out walking? Can you wear them all day?

The extra weight increases the effort, therefore you will use more energy/calories. Not sure about wearing them all day, might be good to have a break.
i got some ok 2 wear 4 a while .got mine from tesco very cheap .
Shouldn't wear them all day as you can damage your feet. Like with any exercise the trick is not to overdo it.
I wore 1.5 kg on each ankle for 4 weeks only taking them of when I slept and washed. During the period I cycled an hour everyday.

When I took them off after the month I could do the previously 30 minute Bike trip in 17 minutes.

I loved them, wanna do it again but my girlfriend thinks its wierd and takes the ****
Wearing ankle weights all day would be bad for your joints - especially knees. Safer bet - wear a weighted vest..
