you may have internal haemarroids which are bleeding hence the blood.i'd suggest talking to your pharmacist/gp.
Is the blood bright red or stale blood?
Question Author
red
lynneylou, fresh bright red blood is a good sign, piles more than likely. Dark blood is not so good because its been there a while. You could get them tied if they are your problem. My hubby had this done a couple of years ago. Uncomfortable but noit really painful.Go to the Drs and remember, he has seen it all before.
Sounds to me like an internal haemorroid or anul fissure (tear of the skin). I went to the docs yesterday about the same thing. I had the same symptoms as you - v. painful opening bowels and bleeding (bright red). She first felt my tummy and then she gave me an internal examination. Having had this procedure a few times now, I'm no longer phased by it and definately not embarrassed because they've seen it all before. This affects 1 in 2 people at some point - very common. Make sure you eat lots of fibre, drink lots of water and apply suppositories or ointment, whatever is recommended by your doc.

Kittyglitter, can you tell me your symptoms??
I am needing a wee fairly often, nagging feeling in abdomen and very low back ache right into buttocks?? thanks alot x
god, if i'd had this for 'a few weeks' i'd have gone to the doc ages ago!...
Question Author
kittyglitter, sorry forgot to also ask you what was prescribed if you dont mind me knowing?? xx
I have not had those symptoms that you have listed all at the same time. They could be related to your listed problem or they might be nothing to do with it - for example are you anxious? That can cause frequent urination and I do get buttock pain but that is due to my lower back issues. Best to get a doc's diagnosis, which sounds like you're going to do anyway. I know you said it's time of the month so you'll have to wait, but you could always use a tampon which is what I did. Great being a woman isn't it?!
I was prescribed Scheriproct suppositories for one week.
