Also, I'm not sure why Abers are seen as overexcitable about the use of symbols...are we a different breed from other internet users?

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Don’t hold your breath lol

This forums IT is stuck in the 90’s it seems.

They can’t even implement an edit function with audited accessible history of edits.

You can’t even delete a list without a mod doing it for you it seems also.

Policy is invest as little as possible and take advertising revenue.
With typo corrected …well I can’t edit it can I?

Thats a 'No' so far then??? :-)
Nailit; if it would enable people to see the twinkle in my eye as I make an 'outrageous' comment, then it might be worthwhile.
No
No.
That is one of the reasons I like AB.....no emoticons, no coloured text, no 'zany' fonts, no flashing gifs, just a clean-looking page of answers.
If you proof-read your post before hitting the 'Answer Now' button, you shouldn't have any need to correct or edit your offerings.
I'd be OK if it was limited to just one. I've a feeling way back you could do something similar and posts we're full of coloured symbols it was a right mess.
I think you underestimate how excited ABers get when they have new tech to try, do you remember the mess when we were able to put things in italics. Hardly anyone could do it properly and now no-one even tries.
I agree that Ab is irritatingly primitive - it would be nice to see the OP title *typo corrected. But is is free, so beggars can't be choosers.

Emotive Icon = *Emoticon.
You still can use italics but only once per post and no punctuation.

As I said, primitive

None of which i asked!
I asked should AB have an emoticon.
A *limited* selection of emoji would be nice. I use them in text /WhatsApp messages, emails, and on other sites. I don't go mad with them.
An editing function would be seen...by me anyway...that management/ whoever sees us as mature adults who won't use it improperly. I'm sure 99% would be sensible.
'Zany'? Back to Squaresville with you. :-)

Lordy...
I didn't say they were different, I just said thatvthey/we get excited when given new stuff to try, proved when italics came in.
Why is it sometimes one can't express what is meant as a mild inoffensive opinion on here without someone jumping on it??? I have never questioned you Pasta like that nor would I.
noooooo!

AB dont seem to allow it
I hate it when I skype a mate with some useful info & all I get back is a mega thumbs up GIF. A proper reply or nothing please!
Is there an emoticon for what I'm feeling right now....I've had 2 people in 2 days misinterpret my remarks.
Is if a full moon? Would a ":-))* have helped?
"This forum's IT is stuck in the 90s, it seems."

Does AB even have its own developer, let alone team of developers? If so, he/she/they should be fired and replaced with people who actually know what they're doing!
:-/
