In June I fell backwards down my lovely new steps. All the other bruises have gone so why hasn't this one? I'm not worried, just curious. Thanks.

Probably a lot of bruise to disperse away, I'd have thought.

4 months is a long time, I'd agree, but I had a bad fall about a year ago and even thought the bruise went (it took quite some time) the resulting 'lump' is still there, I think shrinking gradually.

Thanks OG. Sorry about your accident. I don't have a lump, just the same size bruise which isn't shrinking or going yellow. Looks no different now to when it happened.
BTW, the author of this thread was hoping to hear from you.

Do you wear trousers a lot, bruises take longer to go in the dark.

I broke my knee and after 6 weeks in plaster, then a splint for a time, the bruises were fresh as at the beginning.

Yes many I do, all the time in fact. And did yours disappear when you didn't have the plaster or splints in situ?
It did clear up quite quickly when I got my legs out so to speak - if you're worried ask GP or Surgery Nurse to look at it.

Thanks Mamy. Funny as other parts of my body were bruised that are kept covered as well and are clear now. Not worried really, just curious.

And wild horses wouldn't drag me to my doctor's surgery. The rudest people I have ever met in my life. I believe they score just one star out of five on the NHS website, in fact it might not be a whole star!

LOL methyl.
:-) I didn't know I had been noticed ladyb. Still, posted a response even though not something I know a great deal of about. Done some tiling, not badly even if I do say so myself, but I tend to rely on what I see available when shopping.

Maybe I was told a load of bunkum by the medics at the time, but if you are not in pain then I'm sure there is no problem LB.
No big deal.
Is the bruise over bone or muscle?
It will disperse easily if it has plenty of space and blood supply ......muscle.
It will take longer, much longer if it is trapped with little blood supply......bone.

Stop being curious.
