I've just spent a few days in hospital and I found the most pervading
noise was the non stop beeping from heart monitors even those not connected to a patient . They were not treated as alarms but just an accepted noise. When I asked what its purpose was, no one seemed to know. I think it's a bit like background music in supermarkets, staff don't hear it.

murrymints Yes but at least that is an alarm so has a purpose but these monitor beeps don't appear to serve one. In some wards with empty beds there are beeps, and in all cases they mostly are ignored by the staff, just occasionally are they turned off .
You spent a few days in the hospital? How are you ? Are you okay now?
Hope you are... x
