my 15 year old daughter has bunionettes (on the outside of her foot rather than the inside). She's opted for surgery after speaking to the consultant yesterday but we think one foot at a time rather than both together is probably best.

Has anyone had this op ? We were wondering about recovery times as she'll be in her last year at school. The op is a day visit so she'll be home that night but was wondering how long before she could go back to school....with crutches if needed.

any personal experiences welcome

Cheers

No personal experience, but i would go for one foot at a time, so she can continue to get about.
No.....nothing personal.

Me? I would have both done at the same time.

Recovery? Pin maybe for the first week, easily controlled by painkillers, 6-8 weeks recovery....but me.......i would need 12 weeks.

Good luck.
LOL..."pin" is "pain."
judging from my friend's experience - she found getting them off very very painful - that if she had it all to do again she would not have done it.!!!
