I had this once and took myself off to the the local chemist - he was as good as most GPs! The pharmacist suggested it was a broken blood vessel caused possibly by a random insect bite or even by carrying a heavy shopping bag. It soon cleared up.

I used to get these on a fairly regular basis kate, also in my toes. It got worse during menopause. I also had trouble with muscle cramp at the time so, after research, started taking calmagzinc tablets which sorted the cramp and coincidentally seems to have sorted the blood vessel problem as well.

I did visit the doc with it who said he hadn't seen it before and had no idea what it was so tried google...mind you the bloke is an idiot.
I get this kate. It normally goes after 2 or 3 days, I don't normally get a lump though, just the bruising. I have no idea what causes it

pooka the whole point with this is that you can be sat doing nothing at all, quite relaxed and it happens.
Not unusual......minor trauma (pinching) passed unnoticed.

Leave well alone......it will disappear.

Tailors using scissors were predisposed to this.
Thank you Sqad x (I didn't think it was anything much)
\\\ he was as good as most GPs! \\\

Clearly wasting his time behind a counter selling condoms and sanitary towels.

thanks everyone.
My Pharmacist, knocks spots of my Doctor, who in my opinion, should be working on the Meat counter at Tesco's
mazie.....not clear who should be on the meat counter at Tesco's ...the Pharmacist or your doctor?
The Doctor Sqad...He's useless
//Clearly wasting his time behind a counter selling condoms and sanitary towels.//

Let's not confuse the counter assistant with the pharmacist.

For minor issues a good pharmacist is very useful, not a replacement for a GP visit in more serious matters.
Mamy.....quite.........
