I'm hopeful it will help me, didn't realise how much stuff I ate I won't be allowed to eat! I love peas and sweetcorn, both of them are out. I was having porridge every morning at work and have been having the Belvita biscuits and bananas as snacks, muesli as a breakfast treat on the weekends. All out! This varies very much from person to person and the accuracy of the diagnosis, but the answer is yes, white bread causes less problems than wholemeal.
What kind of symptoms do you suffer with the worse (eg constipation, diarroea, cramps...).

Your actual symptoms might give more of a clue as to what could help though it is trial and error.

I have chronic diarroea (and air in my system) as I have a malabsorption condition and am being put on a low fibre/residue diet - seeing a dietician in March - to try and help. So, no wholemeal, raw veg, oats etc...

If you have a lot of constipation then more fibre could help.
the fibre in wholemeal bread is quite a "rough" form of fibre and also dry. Better for constipation would be fruit or salad veg which comes with its own fluid.
I can't tolerate a lot of wholemeal bread, especially day after day. I just have some now and then for a change.

yes Jenna I have diarreoh and cramps that are sometimes so bad that I find it hard to stand up straight as the pain has me doubled over, and terrible bloating i can look 9 months pregnant, I do tend to eat lots of bread mainly granary and wholemeal I think I may try and leave bread out altogether and see how I get on

I also eat porridge everyday maybe I should ease off this for a bit

I love peas and sweetcorn, both of them are out.

I was having porridge every morning at work and have been having the Belvita biscuits and bananas as snacks, muesli as a breakfast treat on the weekends. All out!

I found I had a problem with wholemeal bread a while back so had stopped that, shame as I love granary bread. I try not to eat too much white bread in loaf form but try to go for things like wraps and pitta breads instead.

They say raw veggies too, even steamed, supposed to be well cooked. No farty veg like beans :) Pasta and rice is meant to be eaten hot only, not cold.

No fruit bits (had been having sultanas in muesli!), in fruit juice etc... Was never a big fan of those anyway, like marmalade but hate the bits haha! Nuts too, I love a lot of nuts :( Weebabix, hobnobs and flapjacks are also out...sob...

Worth a try if it might help you feel better. If you google low fibre/residue diet there is quite a lot of info.

Have you tried buscopan for cramps and have you been tested for anything like lactose intolerance or bacterial overgrowth, even something like bile acid malabsorption is the diarrhoea is really bad?
Ooh, another thing, I find large amounts of protein (eg meat) tends to go straight through me (same with fatty stuff though that's a post gallbladder removal thing I think) so have to avoid too much in one go such as a meal with loads of mince in it.

Rice can set me off too.
