My dad has been diagnosed with the above. I have also been tested and my results show that I am heterozygous (unaffected carrier) for the 845A mutation and homozygous for the 187C form of the gene (??)

So can I pass this on to my children or not?

you need to ask the person who ordered your tests!
Blimey....that is a bit TOO academic for sqad.

Might I suggest FAO Lazygun or slaney.

Had a look on a couple of sites It looks like you can pass on the carrier part but you could only have children with it if your partner was a carrier too. Agree this is one for the real experts to explain in detail but you could contact the society for more info.

Hosp did tests but cant speak to doc today, so was just wondering.

Am waiting to hear from molecular genetics.
Ask to be referred to a genetics counsellor so they can go through it in a more 'how it will affect your future' way as well as a technical this is what it is and what it does way.

Have an app to discuss it. from what I have read(good old google), it seems to not show itself till adulthood and then seems to be boys/men. So my sons may need to be tested.
