Running every 2days 3kms, almost 2 miles. the problem is i cant see me running any further, i´ve been running for 2 weeks now. I´m not new to running, but used to only run on a sunday only. I´m 52 years old, and have quite a healthy diet. Am i being impatient? as i really want to run further soon.
thanx in advance

thanx again for the advice, its going to be a long slog. as im a little impatient.
Even after trying to start slowly, i´m out of breath after only 1/2 km. its the lungs which are the problem, my legs could continue.
Your lungs are worked by muscles, like everything else in your body (along with a bit of gravity). The intercostals, or something ??? ... sqad will put me right, I'm sure.

Those muscles will build up, just like any others. Then your breathing will come more easily ... you will not find it so hard to suck in each breath.

Also, having sucked it in, your whole body will use the oxygen you provide it a bit more efficiently.

Go, Pigs! ... keep it up !!
I'm asthmatic but I part manage it with exercise...your capacity can improve a lot... I don't run but do yoga breathing exercises and very brisk walking and swimming I can even walk upstairs again
4get it....knees are too valuable to mess up pounding pavements
In John lewis, they have little devices to exercise your breathing.

They look like those things that doctors.

I haven't bought one, because they cost about £40.
An incentive spirometer is good used to increase capacity after surgery

Less than £15.00 also helps with breathing control as you try to keep the little ball between the markers they have them on amazon
