I was wondering if anyone has had this or known anyone to have this, as my mother and I are looking at giving it a go. If anyone has, did you see or feel any benefits with it and would you recommend it? Many thanks, Roxie xx

Shouldn't this be in the jokes section?

lol, no Sqad it's a serious question :) x
Oh I would like to have it done too
I have only heard good reports about it
Question Author
yes ric.ror, me too, well from the websites haha so I guess that's what they use to advertise it. I am interested in seeing 'real peoples' experience of it before paying out for it :D so hopefully someone can shed some light on it :) x
You can only get it done privately, cant you? How much does it cost?
Question Author
Yes I think so. I have seen several different prices ranging from £30-£150 per session x
I am curious - what benefit do you think colonic irrigation will offer you, healthwise? I am assuming you are thinking of having one to aid your health, rather than for any other reason?

<<<< I am interested in seeing 'real peoples' experience of it >>>>

"REAL PEOPLE?" You mean the people that have a tube pushed up their @rse and solution squirted in until a load o effluent is spattered around the room are ...REAL PEOPLE?

Sorry I just don't get it.
Well Princess Di was a fan of it, although on reflection she would probably have preferred another session in preference to a late-night taxi ride through Paris.

There are a list of benefits listed many of the websites, which I will get in a moment, and I mean real people rather than the feedback that is left on the websites which could be a pack of lies to advertise, if that makes sense x
Well, you can probably find a celebrity to eagerly endorse pretty much anything, so I dont think a celeb extolling the virtue of sticking a pipe up your jacksie is any guarantee of health benefits :)

here a link to one of the websites. I asked the question on here to see if anyone had experienced these benefits or not x
George Michael might beg to differ.
I have never had this or wanted but surely a vindaloo and a couple of pints of cider would have the same effect?
I thought it was supposed to help people with things like IBS. If your body
dosen't evacuate all its toxins [because of severe constipation] surely it can
only help. I did read somewhere that you would not be a suitable applicant if
you suffered from high blood pressure[Idon't know why or even if that's true]
@Roxie - Were I you, I would be very very careful in believing any alleged health benefits listed from a service that is likely to make money from you taking the treatment - Hardly the most impartial source of evidence :)

Here are a couple of links from more impartial, more expert sites that you might find interesting;
http://www.cancer.org...alTouch/colon-therapy

http://www.livescienc...ing-money-toilet.html

So, have one if you will, but be advised - there is no scientific evidence to suggest a health benefit, and there is a remote chance of harm, through bowel perforation or effectively washing away beneficial flora - butt, it all comes down to you in the end :)
The very last thing you want to do in the case of constipation, in my view, is to try and clear it out with a process of irrigation - taking a laxative would be far better for you.

There is a false idea, widely believed and circulated, that side effects that people suffer as a consequence of constipation, such as headaches, or fatigue, or loss of appetite / irritability are a side effect of those pesky chemicals being reabsorbed from the poo in the gut. This is, in fact, wrong. Rather, those side effects are a mechanical side effect of expansion of the gut size.
Laxatives are a far more efficient way of clearing the "blockage", as it were, and much less dangerous, to boot.
combine the laxatives with clear fluids and you get a similar effect to bowel prep used before surgery and colonoscopies but the bowel is meant to be dirty...its what bowels do...
Question Author
I'm not believing what I have seen, hence why I asked on here to see if anyone had had it done. I will have a look at the links now :) x
Question Author
I'm not considering it for health reasons IE. constipation etc, more as a detox to kick-start a more healthy me. As I've already said, I would like people who have had it or know of someone that has had it to share? (if thats the right word to use) the experience and if they saw any benefits x
