Does anyone have any personal information on diabetes please? I am convinced I have it. I have looked at various websites and seem to have every symptom. I have tried to get an appointment with my doctor but they have nothing until monday. I am now really worried.

thirsty...failing eyesight...bad circulation...dizzy spells....
Impossible to give any meaningful advice as there are various degrees of severity ranging from Type 1 where twice daily injections of insulin are required to the mildest form or Type 2 (which I have) which requires no medication. A blood test will clarify things for you but I would not worry. Thousands of people live normal lives with this condition.

Yes I have all of those. I have been feeling overly thirsty for the past couple of months now. Eyesight is a bit of a joke in my family as I have to squint to watch the telly. I just thought this was because I spend too much time on my computer. I was really dizzy this morning, even though I'd had breakfast. I went all dizzy and shaky and thought I was going to faint. Without saying anything that's likely to scare me, is this a very serious condition? I am 27 if that makes a difference to what type it could be.
Blimey...Monday is only 3 days away, even IF you do have diabetes, nothing is going to happen before Monday.

Thank-you both for your answers. mike11111 if I have type 2 which is what I think, how is it treated? I am confused when you say it requires no medication.
I will now be worrying all weekend.

Thank-you for your answer squad. I know it's only three days away but I tend to panic in these situations. If I do have type 2 then what will happen?
If you Google diabetes you will find plenty of information but don't be alarmed by what you read as all circumstances are catered for.
If symptoms persist, get yourself to A&E just to be on the safe side.
Monday is a long way off if you remain in your current state.
diabetes is so controlable with diet..so don't worry....even if it is type 1 not 2 which tends to go with age.....take care of what you eat...try and keep sugars down..but not out or you can go the other way.....i always carry a wee bite size mars bar and if feel bit woozy it does the trick....honest this is so common now...

A&E? See, now I can feel myself getting breathy. I suffer with anxiety and panic attacks so hearing that was not good.
Thank-you all for your advice. I think I will wait until Monday to see my own doctor as I'm likely to get myself worked up if I go to A&E.
I will also have a look on Google.

Thank-you once again.
Lloyds pharmacy will do a free blood test for you if you are really worried. I expect Boots pharmacy do it too.
flip...calm down.....from your symptoms it is extremely unlikely that you have diabetes...either type....see your GP on Monday.

A&E is for Accident (which you are not) and Emergency (which you are not)
If it is Type 2, then medication, if required, is in tablet form so no big deal. The level of your blood sugar count is the deciding factor, the lower the better. You will just have to wait for the test. If you haven't already been told to do so, good idea to take a urine sample along with you when you see the GP.
calm yourself flip....honest...it will not be a problem..if you have lived with it all this time....just watch how you eat..ask Sqad...
as a side...ear a bit better today Sqad.....
murray....good to hear......but my unanswered question.....what is the diagnosis.
Also if you are really worried, keep off the biscuits, cake, and sugar in any form, that should help. Also, to me it sounds as though your blood pressure is a bit low. You can get that tested at the pharmacy too. You can of course wait until Monday, as Sqad says and as he is the boss when it comes to illnesses you can rely on him.
starby....LOL....the cheque is in the post.
of my ear???....fluid....keep taking the antibiotics and come back if no improvement after finished course.... we just don't have the staff up here ??? maybe a prescription for a fortnight in Menorca??
How much did I earn this time sqad?
