every time i use palmers cocoa butter lotion or lip balm, i get a kind of tingly uncomfortable itchy feeling on my skin..it passes and leaves no after effect...but i realise thats probably not meant to happen...ive stopped using it, but can anyone tell me if any of the ingredients below are well known to have or most likely to have this effect on some people?

Well parabens aren`t good but they`re in so many things you would have had an allergy before. It could be the fragrance.
All I know is that I bought the palmers cocoa butter lotion once, and once only. I smelt like a bar of dairy milk chocolate. It was horrible ;o).

So I would think it could be the fragrance.
I would compare the ingredients to those in other products that you use-or have used. Eliminate those that are the same-then the culprit is likely to be any one that may be new to you.
Could be the coconut oil, can you eat coconut okay?
LOL at Lottie-I tried that just once too, I sat at my office desk all day surrounded by people saying they could smell something like cake mixture or chocolate. Never did confess it was me and never used it again either.
it's the only body bream you can buy with factor 15 uva/uvb in it (more's the pity)
It smells rank dosen't it? but i still use it because i don't want to wear suncream everyday and i take some medication that makes you susceptible to skin cancer so i battle on. They've just brought a new one out that is olive oil based, rather than cocoa butter (it dosen't smell like olives though) - perhaps try that one joko and then you'll know if it's the frgrance or not
I had a spectacular blotchy reaction all over neck and chest after using palmers cocoa butter, last summer. I'm not normally allergic to anything.
Coconut oil and palm oil are two things that 'commonly' cause allergic reactions. They would be my choice for most likely culprits.

cheers all

i actually quite like the smell...but i saw the olive one ...ill check and see what the differences are in the ingedients and maybe i can narrow it down

i love coconut and eat it with no problems...but then the reaction of this cream is quite mild so i could have a reaction inside and not really notice it much...
Mineral oil can also cause rashes or hives.

I too love coconut-I've recently started cooking with coconut oil-lovely stuff.

And according to this- http://www.allallergy...aidfind.cfm?cdeoc=388
allergy to coconut is infrequent.
