My fella rarely stays awake beyond 10pm and is often asleep by 9. This gets on my wick but I try to be understanding as he gets up at 6am and works hard. However he is just as bad in the hols. We haven't been getting up til 9 or 10am and he's still falling asleep by 9 o'clock! That means he's only awake for 12 hours!!! Surely this isn't normal? Has anyone got any advice?

He's 53. I've only just realised I've posted this under 'Beauty' lol
He probably will do that kathy.....his body clock has got into a rhythm.....

He could be bored, depressed or not well, or just tired. The body can manage a long time on not enough sleep but then need a lot to catch up. Everyones needs are different and if he is generally healthy I wouldnt worry.

I can understand that but would have thought with getting about 12 hours sleep a night ( in the hols) he would eventually stay awake longer! You might have guessed I'm not best pleased .... it's boring and very irritating!!
has he always done this cathy ,my man is always sleeping early although he does try to stay awake later he is up from 4 in the morning ,in the holidays he does the same but think this may be due to the fact that this is the time he is used to sleeping ,we also don't get up till late but i don't know if he has been awake since his normal time or not ,if it is worrying you then ask him to see a doctor but i really don't think there is anything to worry about

I do worry there might be an underlying health problem but he won't hear of going to the doctors! But you're right poodicat, I do need company!!

You will just have to manage with twelve hours of him, which is a lot more than most people get!

Oh Ive definitely told him how I feel! You're right of course, he can't help himself! I knew what he was like before we got together but thought my scintilating company would keep him awake! Thanks for your replies K x
I was trying to be humorous Kathy! My husband often goes to bed earlier than I do, but I dont mind going on answerbank or watching tv etc
Question Author
True, grasscarp but I prefer a good chat face to face!
Tonyted - I like your idea! ;-)
Mrs Kirk is often asleep by half 9 on the sofa. Bit frustrating as never seem to watch a whole movie together so don't get to talk about it after unless that includes me telling her how it ended.
