I have severely damaged hair which is naturally a curly frizz ball and i'm trying to keep it natural as often as i can to stop damaging it by using straightners but my main probelm is the frizz...i need a really good serum to tame it, all the ones i've tried do nothing, ive heard i should use a silicon based product as they are good for dry hair?

Also when i do use straightners i always use a heat defence spray but I dont really like any of the ones ive used my favourite is tresemme (the red one), is this actually any good? can anyone recommend a product that protects the hair better?

Coconut oil, in its purest form, rubbed into the hair. It will feel greasy. Re-apply at every shampoo and in time hair will recover and oil will control the frizz.

Try not to brush hair but instead run fingers thru it to untangle or wide-toothed (afro) comb.
I use a pea size amount of Wella SP Hydro mask through mid-length & ends before scrunching in some curl mousse & i just leave it to dry...don't touch it just leave it to do it's own thing.
The Wella SP Hydro mask is suppose to be used a conditioning treatment & supposed to be washed out but it's brilliant as a styling product for frizzy hair just don't use to much & it can be quite expensive but i've seen it on ebay & u litterally use a tiny amount so it will last you ages.
Good heat defense spray is Wella Flat Iron spray again try ebay
Hope this helps
John Frieda products are pretty good, and their straightening lotion spray helps to keep hair soft and shiny.
I am using Mark Hills wee capsules that come in a little red square box, you break open and put the contents onto damp hair before you dry - they are an absolute dream and smell delicious. Can't remember what they are called though, I now use them every morning

Same goes for

Follow on with the pump action Mark Hill serum that comes in a bright pink bottle - it's called something like smooth and silky serum or something similar, I tried them for the first time as the miniatures are on offer at Boots just now 3 for 2, and they are little so if I didn't like them - no big deal - they are both absolutely brilliant, and I went back to get more when they finished.......
If the frizz is on the hair ends.....then the ends are split and will need to be cut above the split to stop the hair's further split.

If above is the case, its important the hair is cut with sharp professional scissors.
Heat Protection Spray - I have tried them all but I only recently noticed that the majority say to apply to wet hair.

You need to go for a specific hot iron protection which you can apply to dry hair if straightening. I find the Toni & Guy one really good as it doesnt clog up your hair.

Hello guys,

terambulan -he frizz is all over! mainly on the upper parts of my hair though to the mid lenghth. Dont brush my hair unless straightnening (brush my fringey bit and sort it out a bit but not a proper brush, use wide toothed comb as well).

wisewomen-I have heard heat defence actually can cause the straightner to burn the hair so i suppose thats why they say use on wet hair? anyone no anymore about this?

Thanks for answers!x
