I have decided that I should allow myself the luxury of having someone in one friday in every month to do a spot of cleaning. How much is the going rate and does anyone have views on getting a company in as opposed to someone local? Does anyone else have someone like this and how does it work for you?

Don't get me wrong I am not rolling in money but its about time I thought of myself a bit more!

Thanks

you would have to pay the minimum wage for a start. and I doubt you would get an individual to do your cleaning only one Friday in a month!!
If you are going to get a cleaner go for one of the reputable companies that are around nowadays, they will(should) have insurance policies in case the cleaner breaks or damages anything in your home.I have no idea of the cost though.
(whispers) PSst....i can get you a cleaner for 10'000 per person! by cleaner you mean a hitman right? no! ok this conversation never happened.................

(kidding of course!)
HEH HEH HEH,

it would have been handy though.
Plenty of 'jam-rolls' about who work for less. Min wage doesn't apply for 2hrs pw
If you only want a cleaner for one day a month then I guess said cleaner will have a lot to do. It will probably take all day depending how big your house is, so it will probably cost you about 60 - 70.
Take a leaf out of Logic's book and use your daughter!!!!

Funnygirl, I wish my daughter would but she is at that age she doesn't want to do anything properly and takes no pride in it, but would happily walk away with the cash! It would mean me looking over her shoulder the whole time and then I may as well have done it myself! :o(
funnygirl i am not going to rise to the bait,

In fact i will make no comment whatsoever ,appart from the fact that my daughter has been away for two weeks and i have had to step into the breach, and a damn good job i have made of it too,

in fact I may even sack her now.

I used to work for a mate who had her own cleaning business. I used to clean a lot of private residences on a monthly basis. It took two of us about 8 hours to clean the entire house (gawd some of them were terrible) The woman I worked for charged 10-15 an hour and we got paid 3.00 an hour cash in hand. This was about 12 years ago.
