Hi weebob, sounds like you might have a sinus infection there, the effect you mention is a typical symptom especially if it is your top teeth. Is your face tender if you press under the eyes and around the cheeks area's ? if so then it is almost sure to be sinus - go see your dentist as he can check out that and any other possible causes while he is at it.
Hi Weebob, all depends whats actually wrong with them, as qapmoc says, its best to get them checked. A couple of months ago I had two front teeth loose and so painful I coudn't chew with them, went to the dentist, she said, and it proved right, that there was nothing wrong that proper care coudn't put right, now, even though they are still slightly sore, no more bleeding of the gums, and they are much better, I can eat with them, so swallow your fear, and make an appointment,
A dentist is the best idea, but these days, not always the wasiest. Have you tried a sensitive tootpaste though - I had teeth that hurt once and brushing with it - or in some cases just rubbing it in my mouth - helped.

Hi weebob,

As previous posts suggest it could be one of a few things, I have had bruised teeth and it is quite painful and it will take a little while to go....I know how you feel about dentists and i used to be terrified of going because of a bad experience as a child.....however i had to go in the end and to make sure i found someone i could trust i had to try lots of dentists before i found one i felt comfortable with.....then i wondered what all the anxiety was for as i am more trusting now.....why not find a local dentists and try to just get a feel for the place and see if one of the dentists will just sit and chat with you...also ask around cos word of mouth (lol) is good aswell.....believe me there are many new techniques available today and a lot of very skilled dentists who will have lots of experience of helping people who are extremely nervous or unsure like yourself.....I hope you can build up the courage to go and dont worry it will be ok...and if you go let us know how it went :-)

hello to you all :o)
thankyou so much for your replies, your all so very kind
something I didn't say in my first post, was I had surgery to my eye socket about 7 months back
the surgeon told me if I was to get a cold in the next 6-12 months then I could have some sinuses
problems! got my first bad cold over Christmas & had a very bad ear infection to start with, then
found out I had blocked sinuses! been on tablets since Christmas to clear it all up,was feeling
much better until last week with my sore teeth?
so went back to the doctor today, she said my ear infection has gone now,but its travelled down
to my jaw & gums! go see a dentist now!!!
I got the bottle to go in & make the appointment lol but cant be seen till next Monday!!!
so im in lots of pain until then,so when ive been seen ill post back & let you all know how it went!

take care
