no, this sounds like Gimley and he has a Dad in the book too apparently
Gimli was played by John Rhys-Davies in the Lord of the Rings film(s).
Gimli in LotR is the son of Gloin (pronounced glow-in) in the Hobbit, one of the numerous dwarf companions of Thorin Oakenshield and Bilbo.
I didn't know it was pronounced like that dundurn! Had always said it in my head to rhyme with groin!
@narolines JRD also played, the voice of Treebeard the Ent. He also played himself, momentarily, as one of the Dintor marauders aboard a boat that was shot by Gimli (JRD). LOTR trivia can go on and on. JRRT lived in my village. In Gypsy cottage. On the very edge of Cannock Chase Forest. There are always supposed connections between Cannock Chase and Fangorn Forest. Who knows? I did plant a Geocache very near there once called "Jive Tolkien"
