What is the name of a book that recently won an award? I don't remember the author, all I can remember is that it had a strange title and there was something about a dog in it.

did you mean "the curious incident of the dog in the night-time" by Mark Haddon. I think it started as a children's book and was also published in adult covers.
Question Author
That's the one! Thank you!!
Strongly recomended - it won the Booker, I think.
Excellent book. Don't know anyone who hasn't loved it.
I have to say I just didn't enjoy it at all. I know this makes me very unusual as everyone else I know has loved it. What was so good about it? I just don't get it.
Daddyg - what was so good about it was the author's ability to write from the perspective of an Asperger's Syndrome sufferer in such a way that makes his (the character's) perception of the world seem perfectly normal and reasonable, and then contrast that with the same instances and behaviour from the perspective of those around him, and their interpereation of his actions and thughts. All this in a framework of people trying to do their best for everyone in very difficult circumstances.I loved it, and envy anyone who has still to read it for the first time.

Sold.  Andy Hughes it will be my next book to read as soon as I've finished the one I'm on!

andy - thanks for explaining it but I don't think I'll ever enjoy it. I have to say I'm pretty envious of everyone else enjoying it so much. Bah.
