What describes words which look like they rhyme when written but don't rhyme when spoken, such as death and heath and those old favourites bough, cough, dough, enough, lough, through and thorough

eye rhyme
For completeness, Famous, you might have listed thought and hiccough. If including Irish lough, perhaps the two Scottish words, hough (hock) and sough (sooch with the ch pronounced as in Johann Sebastian Bach) should also be mentioned. Just a thought.

Thanks for that QM. I rejected using hough as I have 2 friends with that surname, one who pronounces it Howe and the other Huff
