Excel CountIF and CountD

I have a big list of unique reference numbers, some repeating, listed down column A.
How do I count the number of single entries, i.e. not count duplicates?

It's ok, I have sussed it out myself thanks!

for info, the answer is:
=SUM(IF(FREQUENCY(A1:A12,A1:A12)>0,1))
first of all open the excel and put all the entries in the excel than count the entries with the help of the excel calculator as

sum(if(frequency(a1,a2,a3)
