In the light of the current situation, does the government still appoint official war artists?

War artists are still appointed, and these days they are selected by the Art Committee of the Imperial War Museum. As to whether there is an official artist for the current conflict, the museum is 'unable to comment', the information being classified, which suggests that there is one.
