Read it years ago, when it first came out. It was supposed to be a trilogy but got extended to four books as he couldn't fit it all in three books! I read it again about 4 or 5 years ago. I loved it, apart from the ending which I thought was silly. I actually prefer the World of Tiers series which was excellent.

i read the four books once. took me years. i didn't want to finish them because they were that good. but i agree spudqueen, the ending was naughty. but the idea? wow. issac asimov, now there's a good read. thanks 4 ur reply. thought it was only me that read riverworld. what would tom sawyer have made of it all? have u read any james herbert? my fav at mo.
Yeah, I've read some James Herbert - I read allsorts of books, from non-fiction to childrens books to fantasy, science fiction, humour, classics etc etc etc. I've just finished reading a Nevil Shute novel and started on Lark Rise to Candleford - a completely different book from Philip Jose Farmers but I'm enjoying it all the same! Keep trying to get Mr Spudqueen to read the World of Tiers, maybe when we're on holiday he'll get round to it.
