I read those books, when I was in my twenties and liked them.
So generally, I would say, yes.

I know a few adults who would certainly not read them.

You have to be the general type for those kind of books.
I see no reason for adults not to read such books.

There are, after all, a plethora of adults who rave over J.K. Rowling's books for children.
I really enjoyed them - not that much different to his usual material, really.

Philip Pullman's stuff is supposed to be for children but havig read the 'Northern Lights' trilogy: a/ I enjoyed it immensely & b/ I thought it really complicated, dark and nasty!

catso - I have read them to I think they were great and very complex
I love these books. We used to have Truckers on video which the kids loved to watch, it was one of those things that kids found funny on one level and adults on another.
