How do you change the kb size of a photo?

I have many photos which I want to upload to my tree in Genesreunited but you can only have 150kb and most of mine are more like 800kb. How do I make them smaller?

Do you have adobe photoshop?

No - just the basic office package. We have it at work though so I could use that tomorrow if I can't do it on my own computer

I don't think you will be able to do it with the office package, I may be wrong. In adobe photoshop >open picture that you want to reduce, go to >file>save for web> on the the right of both pictures, change width to 600 and make sure there is a tick in >constrain proportions and > apply. then save it as normal. All done!!
