I am interested in sculpture joining bits of metal together etc. but I am so accident prone I darenot use anything like oxyacetalene cutters or welding stuff. It might sound daft but what is the best way of making a hole in metal to use rivets or nuts and bolts .. the safest way anyway !!!

a hole punch?

its a kind of point that you hit with a hammer

certain drills bits will make holes in metal too

if if came to it, you could mark out where you want the holes and take the pieces to a welder and aske them to do it for you.

for smaller pieces you could use a glue gun rather that holes.

Thank you .. I think a hole punch is best for me ... off to buy one tomorrow !!
Hiya, I am a metal artist visit me metalartist.co.uk you will not have anysuccess with a hole punch believe me unless you are using tin foil. A drill is the only way, you just need a good electric drill and a set of drill bits then either rivet or bolt things together, why not do the job properly and learn to weld at evening classes, if you lived locally I would teach you myself but Im in Devon
