I am a keen reader of military fiction books and have in the past enjoyed books focusing on anything to do with the navy (not nes RN) but not read a lot of late as been too much on. Want to get back into the escapisism (prob not spelt that right!) of reading, can anyone recomend a good book with a focus on naval adventure...pref with a quite modern theme.

Thanks

Try Douglas Reeman. He also writes under the name of Alexander Kent. As Kent he did the 'Bolitho' series of books based in late18th/early 19th century. As Reeman he has published about 20 (or more) books based in the 20th century, including both wars (at least one featuring the German Navy of WW1).The books I have were published between 1959 and 1988, so you will probably be looking for reprints; or try car boot sales.
HMS Ullyses Alistair Mclean, fabulously told story and u won't want to put it down.
