Is it just me or is this book awfully written?

It's almost like someone has made a really cheap action thriller movie, and has decided to turn it into a book. It's just too fast and too much is going on. It's full of cliches and most things can be guessed from the start!

And as for that awful last page about Robert and Vittoria, I don't think I've read anything more corny!

I found this with Deception Point and The Da Vinci Code, although i thought that they both had a great story line, the way they were written was completely unrealistic, for example, The Da Vinci Code apparently happened in 24 hours! Hmmmm, ok!! And there is a piece in Deception Point where the lady, (I cant remember her name) is tapping on a piece of ice that they are stranded on with a pick axe and her SOS signals are picked up from just about the other side of the world!!
I totally agree, started reading it and it just got more and more silly,(still quite enjoyed it) its no masterpiece.
I was speaking to someone not so long back that said that all of Dan Brown's novels are written by computer, he puts in the story and the programme rearanges everything to the order that it is published in, this may explain the silly "eastenders" ending to each chapter!!
i've only read 'The Da Vinci Code', and thought he wrote with the style a ten year child might write in, i'll never pick up one of his books again.
The basic story line is not bad, but the prose is trite! Still he is making money, so something must "click" with the readers. But no way is it great literature.
tried them all never finished one found them all pretty dire
I did not like Angels and Demons at all.
Not read it, but if it's Dan Brown then it's most definitely extremely badly written.

I tried The Da Vinci Code and gave up - I found the storyline simply didn't engage me, and I found the style clunky.

I think Dan Brown's work is the Westlife of literature - it's garbage, but a lof of people buy it anyway.

do you mind, i love westlife!! lol
