Working a 12 Hour Shift pattern - Office Based

My partner currently works as a controller for one of the police forces ad they're undergoing something of a study to change their working hours/patterns. She currently works what I believe is known as the "continental" shift pattern but they're looking at any and all possible alternatives.

Does anyone working in an office type environment have any experiences (good or bad) of working a 12 hour shift pattern?

Cheers in advance
