I am sure I have read about a book with this title or someting similar. It is a therapy type book I think where a lot of how you feel /what you do as an adult is based on how your parents treated you. I cannot find anything like this however by searching on Amazon. Does anyone know if such a book exists or am I dreaming that I read about it!!?? Many thanks. Vics.

Whoops. I can't spell. I've put in too many *'s. (I don't want you all searching for the wrong word!!).
It could be 'They f*** you up: How to Survive Family life'. It's by Oliver James and sounds like the sort of thing you're looking for. If you type the title into amazon, im sure you'll find it now and will know if its the right one.

Another three are

Toxic Parents - Overcoming the Legacy of Parental Abuse by Dr Susan Forward

How to Survive in spite of your parents - coping with hurtful childhood legacies - Dr Margaret Reinhold

When you and your mother can't be friends by Victoria Secunda

I found them helpful
