When I was young I read a story in a book of children's fantasy stories published by St Michael. I'm trying to track down a copy of this book. I'm not sure of the title, but it would have been published in the 80s. Does anyone have a copy or know where I can get one?

Yes, I have a copy of it right here. The full title is 'Over the Rainbow: Tales of Fantasy and Imagination' and it has stories and extracts by most of the usual suspects of children's fantasy (Nesbit, Lewis, Baum and others). If you want a copy, your best bet is to search on one of the used book sites like http://www.bookfinder.com/ or http://www.abebooks.com/ Happy hunting!
