I saw a guy on TV a few weeks ago promoting a version of the Bible in colloquial "urban" or rap style. He quoted a few lines from the Gospel of John; not sure if the whole Bible was translated this way. Anyone know about this Bible? I can't remember what it was called.

10 Rap Commandments, by A-Pink.

Umm... that A-Pink album has nothing to do with my question.

True, but its still biblical, and I thought it might help, never mind.

Hi there Rock of Victor

One of the lads in our Youth Fellowship has a version of the Bible which he got at a youth event they went to. It is called the 'Street Bible'. Had a look for this and it seems to have changed its name to 'The Word on the Street'.

Have a look at the link below and, under the section 'book bits' it has quotes which may show you if that is the one you mean.

Hope this helps, to be honest, just scares me that in my early thirties, I'm already out of touch with the 'young people' in my Church but, as a preacher, I try to stay relevant!!!!

Hmm, I've never heard of that one, although it sounds pretty good. I should have specified that I saw this on American television, though. Plus, it's the actual Bible (whereas Word on the Street is just summarized Bible stories).

Its not "The Message" is it? That is the Bible paraphrased into modern urban language with still the same chapter and verse references. It is now for both the new and Old testament, and I know that this transliteration is US

It probably isn't, but it may be of use. Let me know what it was if you find it, I would be interested to hear too.

Thanks, Clanad, but none of those are it, either! I'm beginning to think I imagined seeing this on TV ;-) And no, definitely not The Message.
