I had a book about reading phoenetically at home-the Easy Reader series. Was anyone else helped by these?

My dad taught me to read before I went to primary school. When the class were given our first reading primer books, I saw that it was one of the books my Dad had used to teach me. I declared loudly, "I've read that!". All these years later, I still remember the slow burn look the teacher gave me!

My first exposure to the written word was, as a very young kid, the drawer I slept in was lined with pages taken from 'The Farmer and Stockbreeder', it has to be said, Page 3 was a Cow, No, seriously a real one, a Friesian I think!
