Not my cup of tea but I wouldn't think it is a paperweight, too large, though it could always be used for that. I know some folk who could use tennis nets as bras for a comparison........

That isn't a paperweight.
That is going to end up on the floor if under stress from 'stress folded paper/card'.
They do look a bit delicate for to be paperweights, IMO.
As dust collectors though, they look very nice!
Woohoo hold on a minute, it weighs 2kg. Sheesh kebab. It might not be a paperweight but it will do the job :)
It also features in the paperweight section of the site and I'm sure your Uncle would love to receive it as a gift.
for to be? to be.
Jickmagger: you do realise the size of this beast? 13 x 13 x 20 cm that is a very large piece to use a paperweight.
its an ornament. There are gorgeous glass p-weights on ebay
I tried to find the size details but can't find them. It's very beautiful and very expensive. If he specifically wants a paperweight then he might specifically want the standard ball type which are easy to find.
To conclude. It will function perfectly as a paperweight. Very pricy piece of work. I wish I was your mother or fathers brother - nice gift.
I didn't see that it weighed more than 4lbs so it sounds like it's more than just a paperweight
Prudie: I made the same mistake but if you scroll down they are on there :P

2kg then, I stand corrected, seems it is a paperweight.
That's 2 bags of sugar, would hold down a hell of a lot of paper!
If you want paperwights, these are the ones to look at...

Paperweights!!
spot on mazie, that's what I'd be looking at. There's even one similar.
They are lovely Prudie. I have a lovely lion made by these people, it's a little bit special
Mother of Hades! They're expensive.

I'd still rather have my stone from a beach that cost me nowt :-)
