Should a block now be put on all these vile rapper's words, which to me only incite violence against women and other violence and aggression?

No. Where would such censorship end?
I thhink it is all an over-reaction. Unless you were told you'd never know it was him anyway. And whilst gangster rap is permitted why would this not be too ? Ban both or neither. A single video isn't going to incite much.
His mother must be so proud.
He's apologised - but that's like closing the stable door after the horse has bolted.
No I don't believe it should be blocked, if you are the type of human being to be affected by this type of video then any other type of video, film or song could affect you and lead you to incite violence.
What about video games? We'll have to start banning them as well.

I had a go on 'grand theft auto' I wasn't actually playing the game, I just got out of the car and shot people...
Why would any decent human being want to spout this vile filth?
because they think it's cool and clever, millie - same as all this widespread use of the F and C words in day to day conversation.
I wonder if he felt that wearing the mask gave him the freedom to air some genuinely felt rage and mysogyny that is part of his character, or whether the lyrics just stemmed from a desire to sound like a rapper type character?

Either way, I would imagine his mum, along with any other women in his life, must be horrified at the expressed sentiments.

As to whether it should be banned or not- I am no fan of such vile sentiments, but whilst songs and videos of rappers performing songs that glorify killing and mysogyny are allowed, I am not sure that banning this specific output would achieve very much.

On a side note- why is it that many white rappers end up sounding like poor imitations of DJ Westwood, that gangsta rap DJ and vicars son whose own performance voice makes him sound like a pathetic wannabe West Coast US gangsta? They just end up sounding idiotic and puerile.
I had no idea who the hell this chap was until the news broke but rapping seems to me to be a basically unintelligent and violent type of music. It would appear that he has been sacked quite correctly.
AOG

It would be very difficult to block violent and/or misogynistic (I had to look up that word) rap/death metal/black metal etc lyrics.

Those who dislike these forms of expression should loudly criticise it - but this won't do much. There's a huge market for both gangsta rap and death metal...it's just that rap sells more and has a higher profile.
LG, maybe that's just because that's how white rappers sound. No special reason why they should sound "black" (though they may be trying to). It's just part of the globalisation of music; some elements may be fruitful, some may not. I dislike rap lyrics very much (not all are abhorrent, but rather too many are), but I thought, for instance, the white r'n'b music coming out of Britain in the early 60s was wonderful.
Never mind about that. Today's youngsters are future nostalgic parents and grandparents. When they say to their children and grandchildren " We had some great music back then, not like the stuff you have now....", what are they going to sing them? :)
probably One Direction material and other poppy stuff. I doubt it'll be rap - I always think of rap as not music at all but more like a relation of performance poetry.
Fred, people who like rap also like other music.
Come on! You guys probably grew up in the days when women couldn't control themselves so Elvis had to be filmed waist up so as to avoid seeing his saucy wiggly legs. And the Rolling Stones, The Doors and some country & western singers had to change/censor their lyrics back in the day.... And lets not go into the dodgey Rod Stewart lyrics of the 70s regarding sex with schoolgirls....! :)
Exactly octavious - I remember Relax not being played and a Wham song that had obvious sex breathing in it being banned!!
"legs", Octavius? They didn't call him Elvis the Legs, you know...
lol...George Micheal 'I want your sex' was banned....

If only they could see what's on MTV nowadays...
I know ummmm
