I am re-reading the Dave Pelzer trilogy at the moment as I am interested in reading the more recent book by his brother, Richard.

Has anyone read Richard Pelzer's book - Surviving a Childhood of Abuse?  Is he 'cashing in' on Dave Pelzer's fortune?  I saw an interview with him when he was less than complimentary about his brother.

Thanks in advance, don't want to sound so sceptical, but just can't help it sometimes!

That's a difficult one.  Siblings can have totally different recollections or interpretations of events.  I suspect that everyone will have their own view on this.  We were not there, so none of us can be certain.

I didn't mean to come across as brash.  Sorry tetherend  ;-(

Hi natalie_1982, hope you are fine.

I have not read Richard P' book however, i did read an article in a national newspapaer a few months ago and i agree with you.  I thought he was 'cashing in' on Dave's fortune.

I have also read Dave's Pelzer's books as well and i cannot understand how anyone can be so abusive and violent to anybody let alone their own child.

I totally respect Dave as he is now a very successful pilot in the american airforce and he also goes to school to give talks to children about abusive parents.  I think he is such a very brave/strong person.

Totally agree Mowbray, well like I say I'm re-reading the trilogy at the moment and will probably read his brother's book too so will post on here sometime and let you know what I think!

I don't like to think that anybody could use a situation such as theirs to their financial advantage but I just get the impression that RP is.
