I've read 'Never Let Me Go' which is very different to 'Remains of the Day' but very good. It's difficult to tell you what it is about without giving too much of the story away - it takes you by surprise.

Is that the one set in school? it was a toss up between that and one set in Japan. For the life of me I can't remember the name. Its my age lol. I was scanning Amazon for something to read and then I remembered Remains of the Day.
Did you enjoy Remains of the day. I felt it was beautifully written, how about you?
Hello Rosetta
sorry - don't get on to AB as often as I did. Never Let me Go is the one based in a school. I loved Remains of the Day - if I hadn't known who had written it I would have thought Evelyn Waugh or someone like that. It is a beautifully written book as you say.

Thanks Bensmum. I have ordered Never let me go and I am sure I will enjoy it.
Hi,
'A Pale View of Hills' is a great Kazuo Ishiguro book - that may be the one you're thinking of that's set in Japan (Nagasaki).
