I had set my recorder for criminal justice. Good thing I turned over at 9pm or I would have missed it. as it was 37 minutes late starting. Why could nt the tennis have carried on on BBC2?? Am I the only person that gets annoyed when this happens to programmes ??

I am extremely annoyed having missed the first 40 minutes.

Obviously I won't be watching the rest of the series.

that`s what i mean ethel.. it`s just "luck" that i turned over at 9pm. not rubbing it in, but i bet you were looking forward to seeing it to. bjb x
I really was - I watch very little tv really but I do love a murder mystery.

I have complained to the BBC.

I never thought of that Ethel. I`ll do it to.
I caught it by chance . Can you not watch it on the BBC iplayer ? I know that's not the point of the post but at least you would see it & defiantly worth a watch!
Luckily we were watching the tennis and it stated that this programme would be starting after the tennis later than usual, but by then it was time to get ready for beddibyes so I set the tape and have yet to watch it. Collleagues at work have said it was brilliant so looking forward to watching it tonight.
I agree you should complain though as it has happened to me before

i was recording the series so that my hubby could also watch it when it was convenient for him. he`s up at 4am & works long hours.

I like a bloke who's Defiant. Keep it up.
seriously, what good will complaining do? It's not like they can turn back time
Question Author
I know they can`t turn back time, but it`s the principal. If more people complained , maybe things would change. We pay for the BBC, so I think we`ve a right to complain.
It may make them rethink their policies and procedures for future live events.

We can live in hope.

I appreciate that live sport is important - but there has got to be a way to accommodate it without disappointing other viewers.
i suppose if they put in on bbc 2 people would have complained because it ruined one of the programmes so its a no win situation isnt it
I looked at the BBC2 schedules for last night - it was part 5 of a weekly series. They could have shown it at 8pm next Monday without causing too much disruption.

Criminal Justice last night was the first episode of a five parter shown over the rest of this week and it can't be shown before the 9pm watershed.
Sorry but i started to watch this much hyped drama got all excited, to find it didnt hold my interest at all sadly wont be watching it for the rest of the week
To save you the bother of complaining here is the BBC reply . " .....whilst realising ...............we are sure .................possible British winner at Wimbledon ............apologies...............but it is on BBC iplayer ...............ongoing policy................thanks for your understanding " Looking forward to the 2nd episode later .
Everything stops for tennis football etc, whilst I enjoy sports can't understand why the BBC can't confine their sports coverage to one channel, think of all the viewers who enjoy Ready Steady Cook Weakest Link etc. The BBC have at least 4 channels get it sorted!!;Luckily enough I managed to watch Criminal Justice which was very good.
really?? I recorded last night's episode and intended to record them all. I guess I won't bother either :o(
sorry ethel but how ridiculous - you are suggesting that it is ok to postpone someone elses much loved programme, because you dont want your programme postponed! What makes it okay to change the time of another programme, while the one you wanted to watch isn't okay to change? The simple fact it is YOU that wants to watch it?
It is not one episode that has been messed up though - it is a whole week of viewing.

The other programme on BBC2 is not a drama and does not have a story line to continue. It has a week to reschedule it so the viewers do not miss out. It is not subjected to the watershed.

If Monday's episode was the first of a weekly series I would not have objected to waiting a week for it to be rescheduled - start the following Monday.
But because it is running every day for five days, there is no opportunity to show it again before Tuesday's episode.

BBC should have known this could happen and not scheduled a highly publicised new drama to start this week. They should have stuck to the usual repeats.

Tthe whole series is ruined for me - I shall have to wait for the repeats.

Would Sky+ not have adjusted time of programme?
