When I was child at primary school in Hertfordshire during the mid to late 70's, we had some maths text books that ran in series. For example te beginners set would be Animals then Fish, Flowers and I think Trees was the last. Each set would contain (approximately) 5 books each title according to set e.g: Pike and Perch would be two titles from the Fish set. I also remember being stuck on Bluebell and then Oak for quite a while.
A friend and I were trying to remember what they were called, with no luck. I know it's along shot but if anyone else remembers these or can shed some light on where I might be able to find an answer, I'd be very grateful.

Deep in the recesses of my mind I remember usin g Fletcher Maths in the 70`s whilst at teacher training college.I seem to recall they were themed but am not sure of what ? Try googling it or Amazon......!
Suddenly had a brainstorm as I typed in previous answer -There was also the Hertfordshire Maths Project in use in a lot of places so that might be it!
My other suggestions are-
Do you have a learning resource centre for teachers in your area? They may keep records of past booksor copies of books themselves for exhibitions etc
Each L..E.A will have a curriculum Maths advisor who could do some research for you I`m sure!Try Hertfordshire county council in Hertford
I went to school during the mid 70's and we had books called Red Book 1, Red Book 2 etc.....This was down in London though.
