Hi, I'm looking for a Xmas story book for my nephew who is 1 year old. I have absolutely no idea what would be interesting?! Can anyone recommend a book that your kids have enjoyed with a christmassy storyline? Or any other recommedations for a book with a fun storyline would be appreciated.

I love the Santa series by Julie Sykes. Big bright pictures and great , funny but simple storylines for little ones. You can get ' Shhh' ; 'Bless you, Santa' and 'Hurry,Santa'.
They get read all year round in our house. x
you can have a personalised one with his name etc in it from The Great Little Trading Company.

"The Night Before Christmas" is brilliant. My dad used to read it to me and my brother every xmas eve while we were in bed. I can still remember most of the story of by heart! I can't remember the author but it is the original Father Christmas story so should be quite easy to track down.
I think great interactive books in my house have been "Don't put your finger in the jelly nelly" and "Cheese and Tomato spider" by Nick Sharratt they are great fun books, laugh out loud for a 1 year old. No storyline to speak of, but my youngest is 6 and eldest 15 and no-one will let me put them in the charity bag yet!
Anothe vote for The Night Before Christmas. It is by Clement Clarke Moore.....my mother bless her heart still phones me on Christmas Eve wherever we both are and reads it to me.....and we both get weedy!!! Oh and by the way, I am 34 years old with 2 childrenof my own!!!!

'Twas the night before Christmas and all through the house,
Not a creature was stirring, not even a mouse....

The stockings were hung by the chimney with care,
In hopes that St. Nicholas soon would be there;

The children were nestled all snug in their beds,
While visions of sugar-plums danced in their heads;

And mamma in her 'kerchief, and I in my cap,
Had just settled down for a long winter's nap,
...

and so it goes on....I love it....a gorgeous gift to last a lifetime and be passed on and on.

Another one that we liked particularly last year was Poppy Cat's Christmas by Lara Jones
