I've started listening quite a bit more. Especially when Steve 'I used to be funny in the 80's' Wright comes on.

Zacs....I didn't realise that Steve Wright was on Radio 4 !
Zacs, Radio 4 - Desert Island Discs and You & Yours?
I like most of the output except Martha (interruption) Kearney and the borderline hysterical Melanie Phillips.
Eddie Mair is a national treasure.

The latest figures for Radio 4 is 10.5 million and for Radio 1 its 9.9 million.

Radio 2 is still ahead at 15.5 every week.

One of my favourite show ( apart from the Archers, of course ! ) is Broadcasting House, at 09:00 on Sunday.

Eddie Mair used to do that but now its Paddy O'Connell, and I can't think of anybody else that could do as well.
I love Saturday Morning Live, and I'm just listening to Counterpoint which I enjoy despite Paul Gambaccini! Agree about Eddie Mair - he writes a really funny column in the Radio Times each week too. Always my first read (after The Archers, of course!). I've really gone off Womans Hour, I switch over now to Ken Bruce and the 'name the tune/singer' slot.
I listen all the time when home. The only programmes I hate are the the puerile comedies that come on at 2300 weeknights and, sacrilege I know, can't stand Just a Minute.
Prudie - I totally agree about the comedies(???). I switch them off. Did you mean 11.30 in the morning, that's when I'm usually listening.
I hate to start my day without 'Today'. I've really gone off Woman's Hour, too, Helly. Most of the new comedy programmes have been dreadful for the last few years and I am absolutely fed up of all the science that is now being chucked at us - I turn it off nowadays, used to try to listen to the odd programme or 2. The Archers is like a drug..... :o) x
I don't listen in the day except at weekends helly so it's 11pm at night the dire comedies are on but maybe they are repeats of what you hear at 1130?
