Gosh have you seen this? Have you had weather warnings over there or is it just the Daily Mail scaremongering again?

Well, the heat although well over 30degC is not that bad.......over 40C is hot.

The humidity is the problem.

Cars, shops, our villa is air conditioned, so it will have to be "run for the A/C"
I have relatives in Port de Pollença, Majorca. They are staying for 3 weeks. They mentioned its already bloomin hot!

Do you have your own swimming pool Sqad - if so I think it will be well used in the next week! :)
P.S at the moment there is a nice cooling north wind over Menorca.
Ann, yes we do have our own pool, but the water in that is already over 30degC...........not very cooling.
Sqad, I didnt know you lived in Menorca? A favourite holiday destination for my family between 1999 - about 2006 and my parents ALMOST a retired there.
jd......you either love it OR hate it.

Dozy Island, not glitzy like the other two Balearics........but it suits the sqads.

people are friendly, beaches are plentiful and safe, plenty of birdlife for "twitchers".....ideal for a family holiday.
We would stay in Calan Forcat (spelling maybe a bit off?) but ususally hired a car. My folks certainly loved it as we went 4 times and favoured this destination to the other Balearics and the Canary Islands.
jd......yes, we are the other side of the Island.......Calla Llonga.....the otherwise of the harbour.
Ok sqaddie, don't rub it in...
Prudie....my darling......give me the chance and i would "rub anything in."

We had coffee this morning with my old appointments clerk and her husband "still a good looker at 67"...it was good to see her.......things have changed in the health department in the UK. At least i got the gen of who was"knocking off" whom........that bit never changes.
Yes I heard you had visitors, must be nice to catch up.
Oh and you've made me laugh, saucy!
Prudie...yeah! she was a real looker.....we all tried it on, but as far as I know she remained faithful to her husband ( the fool).

She told me about an incident of my mate,a randy Orthopaedic Surgoem who was out with his wife ( a miserable bitch) to dinner, just the two of them, when on the other table was a "girls night out" including a theatre sister whom he had been knocking off for years. She had a drink to many and got up from her table approached my mate and his wife and said in a drunkenly manner............"I should be sitting where you are"

LOL....LOL
We've been warned in Ibiza about this. Not that's there much I can do about it. Like sqad we have a "warm" swimming pool and air con in car and house, kitchen is hotter than hell.

Yes In August temps can reach 40+º but as sqad says it's the humidity which is the killer.
Those winds are not unusual in southern Spain. Awful. Like standing in front of an open fan oven going full blast.

Apparently some of that hot wind is going to waft over to us in parts of England tomorrow! We are off to the Coast! Jollydee.... LOL .....
