Is it possible to have a chat forum on the site as it would be nice to be able to get to know some people that use this site?

I agree, it would also be beneficial for the dinner party idea in People & Places. We could get to know eachother on a more personal level!!

isle of man, the little rock in the middle of the irish sea, i'll go on that thing now and see how it works x
Of course, you might end up as as a member of the elite group who have been denied membership of the Answerbook. As the very stern email told me "Please note that this decision is final..." I have learned to live with my disappointment.
Smiffy - Do you know why you were denied entry?

Risky
Answerbook membership applications generally only declined if person didn't answer first mails sent to them (on basis if can't be bothered answering now they are unlikely to have much involvement in group) - automatically deleted after 14 days if no response received.

As the aforementioned group owner ( http://uk.groups.yahoo.co m/group/Answerbook/ ) I can assure anyone wishing to apply to join they will be made most welcome with the only stipulation being that you reply within a reasonable time limit to the initial email that will be sent out.....As I have never sent out an email worded like that to anyone wanting to join, then Smiffy I can only assume that you failed to reply to the email that was sent and the automated service rejected your appplication......If you wish to re-apply the moderators will look at your application again.

What's the volume of e-mail on Answerbook?  I haven't signed up because I was afraid of being bombarded.

It seems to run around 50-100 posts a day zgma, though as it's a Yahoo group, there's the option of reading posts via the website or daily digests (25 posts per mail).

Thanks Lodekka, maybe I'll set it up to read online - then I'll spend even more of my time talking to you folks!
