Hello, we have just moved into a barn conversion (we were living in the farmhouse on the same site) how do we go about registering the new property so that (for example) if you apply for a bank account or for a Next directory your address is recognised. I asked at our local post office but they couldn't help? Cheers

You need to contact the council and get your names registered on the Electoral Register.
There will be a department in your local council responsible for registering new residential addresses. It could be the planning department, the highways department or the mapping department for example, which are all departments who have previously dealt with it at my local council. Then you notify the post office I believe.
