I notice that some groups have several thousand posts. Surely it is not necessary and wastes space. Many old postings could reaonsably be removed.

Ethel: I absolutely loved Para Handy.

However . . .

Mrs C: To the best of my knowledge, it's not being repeated on any terrestrial channel. (I've actually written to ITV3 to suggest that they should buy the rights).

I think there'll be one or two lemmings nk!!!

hello there Chris - just thought I'd add that - and sorry for the interruption Paff.
Just give me the address, NK . . . ;-)
Hiya, Icey

(Yes, sorry Paff - for nicking your thread)
I have written to the BBC several times to get Para Handy repeated.

I know one of the actors in it, and he has been campaigning too.

No joy, no explanation.

I have the Vital Sparks as well, the start of Para Handy.

Roger Roger is another great favourite, which they won't repeat.
Chris, what is Para Handy? Can you give us a description please? I think you'd like Shameless, but you have to be very broad-minded to watch it. Are you broad-minded Chris? Shameless can be quite an eye opener.

Nono, do you watch Shameless? I imagine it's the sort of programme you would laugh at. Am I right? lol
My vague recollection of 'Roger, Roger' is that it was worth watching but it wouldn't top my list of demands for a repeat run.
The Tales of Para Handy was made by BBC Scotland, and is about a puffer ship and its crew, starring Gregor Fisher.

A situation comedy. :)
: )

Perhaps I could go one further Paff - why do we always end up with trillions of noreply notices when we go to look through our emails??? I delete them by the dozens!
Is Gregor Fisher the actor who played a character who wore a string vest? Can't think of the character's name at the mo.
Roger, Roger was hilarious, in my opinion - but I find most of John Sullivan's work to be excellent.

The scene where the alsation gets in the lift, and his owner if left outside watching the other end of the lead rising through the closed doors has me in stitches.
Mrs C:
'The Tales of Para Handy' was a BBC dramatization of Neil Munro's 1930s newspaper columns about a roguish skipper of a Glasgow 'puffer' boat. It starred Gregor Fisher. It was more of a comedy-drama than a sitcom - but it was still wonderfully funny!

Am I broad-minded? Would I post on CB if I wasn't? ;-)
Yes, that is he. Rab C Nesbit
Yes, Gregor Fisher played Rab C Nesbitt
Snap!

Very true Chris. :o}

Make a point of watching Shameless - I think it's one of the funniest comedies ever!

Anyway, I need to get to bed (or, more accurately, I need to hunt for my missing Oyster card - for tomorrow's trip to London - before going to bed).

Goodnight all.
