Hi Ed. There is a post today in How It Works, supposedly from me, but I didn't sign into AB till approx. 11.45 a.m. today. The post is entitled Digital body fat scales. How could this happen? Any ideas? Thanks.

Do you share your computer with anyone?

Me and my girlfriend both have logins for here and we've posted under each other's names by accident once or twice when we have forgotten to sign out.
doesn't appear to be an imposter, so squarebear's suggestion looks the likeliest. Have you left your computer switched on for someone else to use?

it might be an imposter with a capital i for the l
just checked that 4get and both are spelt same way
I would imagine if someone was going to the trouble of impersonating someone else, they would post something more controversial than asking about bathroom scales.
Well it was definitly done by using your own ID 10CSt, as the reply underneath in that post is highlighted in pink as being by the question author.
yes but as I said one might be 10ClarionSt and one might be 10C (capital i) arionSt therefore looking like 10CIarionSt
yes 4get and i said Id checked.

copy and paste each one into a word processor and youll see each is the letter l.

and, as B00 says, the author replied to the Q.
Are you very fat and someone is subtly trying to tell you you need to watch your weight. Like buying smelly uncles soap at Christmas, that knd of thing.
in that case I look forward to hearing the Ed's explanation of how two users can have the same fairly distinctive username.
It isn't two users. Ask around and I'm sure you will have left yourself logged in on a computer.
It happened to me when I was johnlambert, someone (whiffey I think) used a capital i in the lambert part of the username,
4get and others emailed the Ed to complain and the false johnlambert was removed next day after causing no end of chaos
it does happen 4gs but in this instance it hasnt, i checked it because i had the same initial thought.
Yes but they haven't caused chaos. Merely asked a question about scales.

you plonker lol
lol, at least it was a fairly innocent question lol
at least your nephew was polite and asks interesting questions. Squarebear is vindicated!
lol 10CSt, same thing happened to me here about a year ago, a question posted by "me" only I knew I hadn't asked it- turned out it was my daughter.
