Why do so many people get irate, even furious about things that actually have no bearing on them or their life?

they don't affect them, they are irrelevant, they are none of their business, not offensive - yet so many get het up about them.

i am talking about things such as, for instance, people with beards or moustaches, ginger hair, people on the telly, certain types of clothing, girls who drink pints, people who wiggle their legs or pens or hair or whatever, other peoples decor, students, etc etc etc.

there are loads of things, and there are often mad, ranting questions on here asking "why why why"

its quite bizarre.

any ideas why these minor irrelevancies bother people so much?

Jealousy ...simple as that
Hmmm, its what makes us who we are joko. I dont think people get irate or furious. People are and have opinions. Your not from the middle east are you joko?
It doesn't get me irate but some things I just hate to see. Like a size 18 girl trying to fit into a size 14 with bits spilling out. I just find it distasteful and I actually find that I am embarrassed for them.

I also hate it when I see people spit in the street

mrben - yes people do get irate and furious - i have seen it.

and as for your other comment - errr...what?
Oh right, if you say so. i have never actually seen anyone get furious or irate yet. Mind you one guy came close, once, Homer was his name. Hygenenic Homer i called him cos of his mouldy mattress, and he took offence....but i dont think he got irate. I think because people are writing on here, you dont really get to know their personality. Maybe it seems they are irate by how they word things. I know i must make people angry cos i twist things...
Ive never witnessed anybody getting irate or furious about such things.
I feel embarrassed for the the girls I see walking down the street in the summer with the crop-top on and a big roll of fat being shown to the world, I find that distasteful!!

But it doesn't upset me or make me angry!! turns my stomach sometimes though!!
joko, you sound like you are getting irate!!

Chill out!!!!

mrben - is english not your first language? or are you a simpleton?

i said -
"...it doesn't affect them, they are irrelevant, they are none of their business, not offensive ..."

if you insult someone that is not 'none of their business' - are you unable to tell the difference?

please try to keep up - its really not a difficult question.

ratter - i am perfectly calm and nothing has happened to me to make me ask this - it just occurred to me that this happens, in life and on here, and i wondered why...simple
.

Calm down joko. Now just tell us why you are so angry tonight. You shouldnt go insulting people. They are only giving you their opinions.
Why not tell us about it and maybe we could help.
I bet its something really silly thats making you irate, something like your mum shouting at you in public and embarrassed you, or maybe you havent had a xmas card yet, or maybe a big spot has come on your face and you cant go out this weekend...tell us
Ahhh, sorry joko, after reading your other question i think i have realised what is making you so upset. You think your doc has ripped you off dont you. And to make matters worse, you have read on here some stuff and you are thinking that all these things are trivial compared to your situation. And to make matters even worse someone like me comes along and makes you stress out.
I apologise...
Question Author
mrben - why are you having such trouble understanding?

i have to say i am surprised at you.

are unable to read? or just don't you?

i am not insulting people, mrben - just you.

everyone else understood what i was saying, but you seem unable to grasp the intricacies of the english language.

in your eagerness to post a puerile remark, you skipped over most of the post a therefore came across as a real dumbo

keep it up

and for everyone else - incase you are wondering, i am not referring to myself in this post, nothing has happened to upset me - i have just noticed over the years how some people get angry at things that DO NOT AFFECT THEM IN ANY WAY - and i just wondered why people let these things get to them.
I've just seen someone in the corner shop wearing hot pants and vest!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

i love that you think you are stressing me out by deliberately misunderstanding me...oscar wilde would be spinning in his grave with comedy genius like that on the loose...

I said i apologise.
I still stand by my answer tho, that i dont think people do get irate or mad on here. But i am beginning to reconsider now...
Question Author
lol ummm - glad you get the point of my post

thing is, are you annoyed by that person?

if so, you know it has no bearing on your life whatsoever, so why does it bother you?

I am genuinely curious.

I thought you meant Mr Ben then!!!! I like him

No, the person in the shop had a big bum as well, didn't bother me at all, I just walked out in my tracksuit thinking....I look good!!!
Question Author
mr ben - i don't just mean on here - i mean in life - i have witness others seemingly outraged by a man wearing pink or seeing a goth or something.

and i really am not angry myself, just curious, because i never get angry about other people doing what they want to do - no matter what it is - unless it hurts me or others - so i wonder why others do.
hot pants and vest...........that must be me......
Or me!!
It definately wasnt me
