the computer cannot comprehend what you are asking, it can only pull up key words you have mentioned so sometimes it will be the wrong thing. lots of word have more than one meaning and the system can't tell which one you meant.

So can we have a little bit of sympathy for the people who get slagged off when thry post a question that may have been already answered?

Indeed, rogerr. Doesnt this need sorting out, Ed? If all those people posting Marlboro questions had been able to see that the questions had been asked before, they could have found the answer instantly and gone away happy. Instead, the 'Do you want to post?' feature failed to list them - in spite of the fact that this was exactly what they might have supposed it was there for. Somehow it seems that it's not linked to the Search the site facility, which has been much improved.
